La Conciergerie, Paris

Curated as part of the Africa2020 Season festival celebrating African artists throughout Paris, Factum Arte was commissioned with designing the two 26 metre kinetic video projection river centrepieces. These rivers represented the two arms of the river that surround the Cité Island where the Conciergerie is located.

The rivers consisted of 480 silent fans to push and pull parachute silk to imitate the flow of water. Eight high resolution video projectors displayed aerial footage of the Siene onto the surface of the rivers.

Matt produced photo-real concept renders which helped with the initial bid for the project. Followed by small scale prototyping of the fan fabric system. Matt worked with the team developing and testing the projection system. Including the design, fabrication and installation of the mounting plates and mirror system for the projectors.

Matt also headed the team for the disassembly of the exhibit and return of components back to Madrid.
