FACTUM ARTE
An R&D project at Factum Arte, the project aimed to create a 3D puzzle using geometry derived from ancient Iranian-Iberian architecture. The concept was developed for production by creating a parametric 3D model to allow rapid prototyping for different sized puzzle pieces and materials.
The mathematics that drives the geometry was studied from academic papers and reverse engineered to create a fully parametric 3D model. This allows control over every element of the sculpture from aesthetic to manufacturing tolerances. The pieces are reconfigurable in many patterns and forms, only limited by your creativity.
